Limelight IPL is a revolutionary non-invasive procedure that targets pigmentation and rejuvenates the skin. The treatment is designed to address imperfections associated with ageing and photo damage, as well as skin redness, tiny veins, brown spots and the effects of sun exposure.
Lasers and intense pulsed light devices have been used with a high success rate to reduce pigmented areas. Using this advanced technology, charged energy light is carefully released and absorbed by the pigmented areas, avoiding the healthy surrounding skin.
IPL uses wavelengths of heated areas which are directly aimed at the pigmented spots. The advantages of IPL treatment technology include the fact that the pigment can be accurately pinpointed without harming the surrounding tissue.
The Limelight procedure typically involves two to five treatments. After the pigmentation treatment, the skin will appear slightly red which may last from a couple of hours up to 24 hours. The pigmentation will generally darken first, and come to the skins surface before flaking off. This process can take up to 10-14 days. One to three treatments are generally recommended, however additional treatments may be required.
We recommend a Mineral Makeup to camouflage during the recovery process as it allows the skin to breathe without interfering with the treatment.
We highly recommend all clients to get a professional skin check by a GP or Dermatologist prior to commencing Limelight treatments – as once the pigment is gone, it is hard to pick up on any skin abnormalities related to skin cancer. Sun Protection is of the upmost importance during and after your Limelight IPL treatments
